The Big Lunch is a nationwide initiative led by The Eden Project to encourage  people to eat lunch with their community across the UK.

In 2014 and 2015, Continental Drifts produced the Big Lunch event, called “Picnic in the Park” for our client LLDC at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Picnic in the Park saw family friendly activities provided by Hackney Play Bus and Discover Children’s Story Centre, including storytelling, cookery workshops, sports games and a teddy bears picnic. Families also enjoyed wandering bands and performances as they ate their Big Lunch.

“Picnic in the Park reached over 4,000 local residents, many of who had not yet visited the Park. Their feedback was excellent, they all praised the variety of activities and wanted more events like this repeated in the Park. I was really impressed by the standard of the content, the professionalism of all staff involved and how the whole project was managed from start to finish, within a very short window.”
