Property developers Capco purchased Covent Garden in 2007. We worked with their PR agency, JCPR to produce a series of newsworthy events that were designed to give Londoners a reason to re-visit.
Continental Drifts produced three world-class events for JCPR/Covent Garden including six weeks of Christmas performance programming, an August foodie night market and an autumn pumpkin celebration.
Our brief was to bring to life JCPR’s creative vision to re-position Covent Garden as a cutting edge destination for Londoners by delivering world class events with high production values that would give them a reason to visit.

For the Christmas season, we programmed world class acts that fitted with Covent Garden’s street performer heritage. Acts included Heliosphere, Strange Fruit from Australia, and stunning Aerialists. Not only did the acts provide fantastic free entertainment but also column inches.
For the markets we worked with the organiser of Broadway Market in Hackney to invite the right mix of traders for our target audience.
For the autumn events, we worked with film set designers to create spectacular autumnal displays and invited producers of giant pumpkins to show off their produce at the event.
